Onionface have released their new album, ‘Roll Over, Dog…And Run!’ Comprising ten rocking tracks, the alt-rock trio from Ottawa take their cues from The Ramones and then infuse their sound with its\u00a0very own style.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

At first glance Onionface appear to have come from another time – prog-rockers from the 60s and 70s – but a second look reveals them to be very astute social commentators. Tracks such as ‘Goodbye, Take Care’, opens with a Beach Boys\/Beatlesesque harmony, and resounds with thought provoking lyricism:<\/p>\n

\nJust a little bit of loving lasts a long long time<\/p>\n

“You’ve gotta make up your mind
\nDesigner label doesn’t matter when it’s not your size”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

One of the standout tracks in our mind is ‘I’m Alright’: a\u00a0musically complex song with throbbingly strong bass keeping time with the drums; one foot on the\u00a0Wah Pedal pulling the guitar in and out in a wave-like sequence. The music is where it’s at with Onionface, they are skilled instrumentalists and it shows.<\/p>\n
