Travis Marsh grew up in Camarillo, Southern California, and the singer\/songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist attributes his proficiency to the fact of his hometown being in an agricultural area. “There really isn’t much to do besides lock yourself in a room and play music all day”, he says.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

When interviewed by AXS.com, Travis said,\u00a0\u201cI\u2019ve always viewed songwriters as the therapists for the public. I think a great songwriter is someone that has mastered the art of tapping into our deepest inner emotions and memories. They can bring you back to moments in your life and then they become a part of you.\u201d Citing among his influences The Eagles, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Ryan Adams, Jackson Browne, and Joni Mitchell, it’s no wonder that his music is multi-genre.<\/p>\n

The video for ‘Lay Me Down’ shows Travis, who’s just been shot, joined in a motel room by a mysterious woman, played by model Asphyxia Noir. She’s come to take the bullet out, and clean him up. The hitman is played by young Chicago rapper, G Herbo, who also features on the song. It’s a laid back song with hints of southern gospel, rap, country, and folk.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the track to YouHeardThatNew, Travis Marsh said,\u00a0\u201cI had a great time writing music and coming together on this track with Herb to help bring awareness to some of the social injustices we face today from L.A. to the Windy City.\u201d<\/p>\n
