Ireland is known the world over for its music, and the many and varied forms it takes. On a recent trip to Dublin, Lisa took the opportunity to speak to three different bands, each from a very different genre to the others – about their music, and what it’s like to be a musician in Ireland.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Our second interview was with The Silken Same, also known as Mossy Nolan and Colm McGowan. The pair grew up together and have been performing for a number of years as ‘Mossy Nolan’. They decided to change their name to ‘The Silken Same’, after a phrase used by Colm’s father, as they felt it represented both of them, and had their first official tour dates in January this year, supporting Cass McCombs, in Whelans, and The Roisin Dubh.<\/p>\n

Their debut single, ‘Jennifer Gentle’, was released in April, and features Cass McCombs on electric guitar.<\/p>\n
