Canadian singer songwriters Just Alex and Yan Etchevary have announced their collaborative single, ‘Til Midnight’, set for release on all major media platforms from 28 April. The track is from their forthcoming EP, ‘Glass’, due out on May 12.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

We’re proud to premiere the video for this track, which has been described by Huffington Post as “one hell of a good song, providing a haunting listening experience.”.<\/p>\n

The video tells a dramatic love story by way of dance – a couple sorting out their lives together, and resolving\u00a0their differences.\u00a0Footage of Alex and Yan performing the track in the studio is spliced between the powerful imagery of the dancing couple, who can be seen in their bedroom, at the table, and in the bath. The contrast between this and the performers is further highlighted by different colour effects: the couple are in red, while the musical artists\u00a0are in blue. We also see the male protagonist lit in green at the start and end of the clip, both times without his lover – in the end symbolic of the breakdown of the relationship.<\/p>\n

Before coming together for their joint project, both Alex and Yan had\u00a0enjoyed successful solo careers, with\u00a0Yan gaining international recognition with the\u00a0single, ‘The Way You Want Me’, released\u00a0with DJ Lucky Rose.\u00a0The track was nominated for the Heatseeker award at the 2016 Canadian Music Week Awards and to date has been streamed over 9 million times on Spotify.<\/p>\n

‘Til Midnight’ is a modern ballad, and was recorded in Montreal, with contributions from some of the biggest names in music production, including the late Tom Coyne, known for his work with Adele and Bruno Mars, and Stephen Kaye, whose best known work is with Ziggy Marley. Listening to his vocals on ‘Til Midnight’, it’s not surprising to hear that Just Alex cites Sam Smith as his inspiration for the song.<\/p>\n
