Rather than using computers and tracks, Last Giant, from Portland, Oregon, take\u00a0in a more traditional approach to their music, and bring their incredible riffs to life both on stage and in the studio. Their new album, ‘Memory Of The World’, released earlier this month is a collection of 11 electrifying tracks, the first of which is ‘Toys For The Devil’.<\/strong><\/div>\n

With a sound reminiscent of classic rock bands from the 60s and 70s (Cream instantly comes to mind), Last Giant are serious about their craft, and ‘Toys For The Devil’ is no less an example of this with strong, well-practiced guitars and drums. The video takes a minimalist approach, with the band members each lit in turn to showcase their particular skills. By stripping away all distractions in the background, it’s possible to focus on the music and bring forward things which might otherwise be missed – glistening rings on fingers as they move up and down the fretboards, the glow of the microphone,\u00a0the effortless drumming. It’s all rock and roll and we like it that way.<\/div>\n

‘Memory Of The World’ was engineered and co-produced by Larry Crane,\u00a0known for his work with Tape Op, and Elliott Smith; mixed by Paul Malinowski (Shiner, The Life And Times), and mastered by Mike Nolte, of Montreal.<\/div>\n
