On the surface, Australian artist Kevin Tiah looks like a diehard metalhead, but dig a little deeper and you’ll find he’s actually a very talented musician who has diversified into many different musical directions.<\/p>\n

Kevin’s best known as\u00a0the lead vocalist and guitarist of a post-hardcore\/screamo band, with performances\u00a0at iconic Sydney venues such as The Metro, Factory Theatre, and Oxford Art Factory. For his first solo effort however, he’s returned to a song he started writing in high school but never completed. A ballad, ‘Fight For You’, has been brought to life with a music video, the story behind he explains,<\/p>\n

\u201cCherish every moment with your loved ones and don\u2019t wait for it to become a memory before you realise how valuable it was to you.\u201d<\/p>\n

‘Fight For You’ examines the many different stages and struggles of modern romantic relationships, people becoming obsessed with their work-life and careers, leading to the neglect of those we should hold most dear.<\/p>\n

The camera follows Kevin and his partner through their days and nights, watching Kevin’s work-life balance cause an obstacle in his connection with her, and consequently the breakdown of their relationship. He realises what he’s lost, and makes every effort to win her back. The video leaves the viewer with a “will they or won’t they” as to their reconciliation.<\/p>\n

Soft and gentle, and showcasing Kevin’s considerable musical talents (he’s also a gifted pianist), ‘Fight For You’ might\u00a0be a pleasant surprise for those who were\u00a0expecting a more metal-tinged song.<\/p>\n
