DrawnSword, aka Raffael Scheiber, has released ‘Just An Episode’, the second track from his second EP, ‘Ghost’.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Since the first EP, Raffael has refined his craft, making it funkier, and adding some crispness to the electronica, while improving upon the production and songwriting.<\/p>\n

‘Just An Episode’, begins starkly shot in black and white, is both disturbing and compelling at the same time. DrawnSword takes a modern approach to the production, stripping back the chords, and giving the electronica the lead.<\/p>\n

About halfway through the video, colour is introduced, giving us the feeling that things are improving somewhat for the singer. It’s short lived however, as Scheiber falls at one point, symbolic of the depression he lives with from day to day.<\/p>\n

Speaking of the track, Scheiber says that lyrically,<\/p>\n

“This is probably the most personal piece I’ve ever written. For the past ten years, I’ve been struggling with mental illness, but even more so with people’s inability to understand and being understanding. Calling it a cop out or just brushing it off as whingeing millennials etc.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

‘Just An Episode’ illustrates Scheiber’s belief that depression is a shift in perspective, towards all negative aspects of, in short, everything. Every task becomes too difficult, and the focus is on all the downsides, with no attention given to the positives. These episodes, hence the title of the song, if untreated, can last months, if not years.<\/p>\n

“I have learned to live with them, I can anticipate them and counteract them, but it took years and is still sometimes rather strenuous.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
