Grammy-nominated Americana stars The Lumineers today announce the release of \u2018Seeds\u2019, an exclusive 10\u201d vinyl set to be released in conjunction with Record Store Day, Saturday 22\u00a0April.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The limited edition release from the critically-lauded Denver-based outfit shows the progression of two of the most popular tracks from their No.1 sophomore album \u2018Cleopatra\u2019 <\/strong>(\u2018Angela\u2019 <\/strong>and \u2018Long Way From Home\u2019<\/strong>) from initial demo, through recording to the live entity.<\/p>\n

\u2018Angela\u2019 is a subtle and restrained classic folk-rock song, which could have come straight out of Laurel Canyon in the late 60s-70s. It builds and crescendos seemingly lost in the vault of classic songwriting reappearing in 2017 as ageless and compelling. The 405 labelled\u00a0the piece as:<\/p>\n

The other offering on \u2018Seeds\u2019, \u2018Long Way From Home\u2019, displays the band\u2019s uncompromising songwriting & emotional prowess in full force, centred on a simple picked guitar line and frontman Wesley Schultz’ voice, lyricism & storytelling centre stage.<\/p>\n

Discussing the release, Schultz shared,<\/p>\n

\u201cWith \u2018Angela\u2019, you’ll hear how lyrics change and bridges and verses are moved around. And with \u2018Long Way From Home\u2019 you’ll hear an entire intro, i.e. a brand new part of the song that was omitted on the studio album, but can be heard in the live version.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u2018Seeds\u2019 will be released on Record Store Day on Saturday 22nd\u00a0April<\/strong> and you can find it at your local (participating) record store here<\/a>.<\/u><\/p>\n

The Lumineers are currently in the midst of an extensive North American arena tour in support of last year\u2019s #1 album \u2018Cleopatra\u2019, which was described by The Evening Standard as<\/p>\n

The band\u2019s current live plot on The Cleopatra World tour has seen them play to adoring fans all over, including two sold out nights at the legendary Madison Square Garden. The band will return to London this summer with an appearance at Hyde Park\u2019s British Summer Time Series (appearing alongside similarly-revered songwriters Stevie Nicks\u00a0<\/strong>and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers<\/strong>). \u00a0Following that The Lumineers, hit the road and will perform in stadiums opening up 13 shows with U2.<\/p>\n
