The son of Aaron Neville and nephew of Art Neville, Ivan Neville is no stranger to the music industry – in fact, he’s played for many years alongside his Uncle Art in the Neville Brothers, as well as contributing to albums by Keith Richards, Don Henley, and other legendary artists.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Dumpstaphunk is Ivan’s own project, on which he’s joined by other musical luminaries, including his cousin Ian Neville, as well as Toby Hall, and Nick Daniels III on bass and vocals. Rounding up the group is drummer Alvin Ford Jr, who also performs with EDM artist, Pretty Lights.<\/p>\n

‘Justice’ features yet another New Orleans funk master, Trombone Shorty, whose 2010 album, ‘Backatown’ saw him nominated for a Grammy. His trombone is the underpinning of the entire track, which is accompanied by a great video clip.<\/p>\n

The video shows Dumpstaphunk in action: performing in concert halls and outdoor amphitheatres with their own brand of modern funk. It also features footage of recent world events – marches to raise consciousness, violence and oppression, both in the States and abroad, and politicians who use this atmosphere of instability to progress their own agendas. ‘Justice’ alerts us to the necessity to be aware and to stand strong – and resist if and when necessary.<\/p>\n
