Jim Peterik will be known to most people as the founder and driving force behind the band, Survivor, who stormed to the top of the charts with their song, ‘Eye Of The Tiger’, from the Rocky III soundtrack, which was co-written by Jim. <\/strong><\/h4>\n

Jim has revisited many of his works in his career retrospective album, ‘The Songs’, including a downtempo rendering of ‘Caught Up In You’, which he co-wrote for the Southern rock band, .38 Special.<\/p>\n

With a love for melody and driving rock, Jim Peterik has been an institution on the music scene for the better part of the past forty years. Apart from his work with Survivor, he’s co-written for the afore-mentioned .38 Special, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blackhawk, Cheap Trick, Sammy Hagar, Brian Wilson, REO Speedwagon, and The Beach Boys. He wrote the song, ‘Vehicle’, for The Ides Of March, and still performs with them today (Jim was an original band member and took time out to form Survivor, returning after they disbanded).<\/p>\n

Jim won both a Grammy and a People’s Choice Award for ‘Eye Of The Tiger’, and was also nominated for an Academy Award. His album, ‘The Songs’, comprises thirteen of his best known tracks, re-imagined in a different way – including ‘Vehicle’ and ‘The Eye Of The Tiger’, Jim has also included songs he’s written for Sammy Hagar, Lynyrd Skynyrd and .38 Special, among others.<\/p>\n

Highlights – in an album which is quite frankly filled with highlights – include a fantastic\u00a0Bluegrass version of ‘Eye Of The Tiger’ and a beautiful piano-led, downtempo treatment of ‘L.A. Goodbye’. It’s an absolute treat to hear such familiar songs stripped back and re-imagined,\u00a0and both fans and those who haven’t come across his music before, will enjoy it immensely.<\/p>\n
