Matt Katsis launched his most recent EP, ‘The Burke & Wills Sessions’, earlier this year at the iconic Federation Square, in Melbourne, Australia. The EP was met with great acclaim, and as a result, Matt is set to release a second EP in 2017, the first track of which, ‘Need You Here’, was released on November 7.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Matt’s just completed a tour of New Zealand, and is now touring his new single, travelling around Australia in his trusty 1985 Toyota Hiace Campervan, which he calls ‘Sunny’. Covering most of Victoria and taking in some of Queensland, he will see in 2017 at the Tanglewood Music and Arts Festival, at Thornton in Victoria.<\/p>\n

Matt spent some time in the US, including Nashville, which has certainly affected his music, with its Americana\/Alt Country influences. His track, ‘Need You Here’, is a rollicking tune accompanied by a video featuring footage of Matt’s travels through California, Arizona and Utah, back in 2014.\u00a0The video was edited by Graeme Passmore, and also shows Matt playing his guitar, in the Byron Bay area.<\/p>\n

Matt says of the track,<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe bare bones of the song and lyrics came about in reflection; it\u2019s about wising up as we get older having that special someone by your side through thick and thin to share life\u2019s experiences.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Matt’s live performances are characterised by his raw vocals and talent with the acoustic guitar. He takes a one-man band approach to his performances, and incorporates the use of stomp box, tambourine, and loop layers created on the fly.<\/p>\n
