New Yorkers Anana Kaye and Irakli Gabriel come together in their new\u00a0EP, ‘Sentient’, with the lead track, ‘Ain’t Dead Yet’ accompanied by a mesmerisingly gorgeous\u00a0video.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Inspired by silent films from the turn of the century, the self-directed video features shaky, vintage black and white footage of stunningly hand-crafted landscapes and bizarre costumes, creating a marvellous narrative.<\/p>\n

Anana, dressed as a mysterious fortune teller, vocally channels Stevie Nicks and Karen Stever, and the overall effect is a spooky, but beautifully creepy video and song.<\/p>\n

The lyrics penned by Freddie Stevenson and Mike Scott, combined with Irakli’s expert guitar playing, as well as the kick drum, bass, and piano pulsing on every downbeat, invoke the spirit of Fleetwood Mac’s classic, ‘The Chain’, while sprinkling a dash of Jack White and Alabama Shakes, to give it a contemporary edge.<\/p>\n

The pair bring to their music wildly diverse influences: Anana comes originally from the Republic of Georgia, while Irakli has been in NYC for the past ten or so years, and it is this which goes some way to explain the cross the board appeal of their single, ‘Ain’t Dead Yet’.<\/p>\n
