With arrangements using old world instruments such as the duduk and Irish harp, combined with gorgeous vocals, the new\u00a0album from\u00a0Abigail Winzer, ‘Rejoice’, gives\u00a0a new flavour to familiar Christmas classics.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

‘Rejoice’, released on the 11th of October, will be your “go-to” Christmas album this year and for the future. Still only 16 years old, Abigail Winzer, from Muskegon, Michigan, started singing in her church choir, and at 15 she started training with Sara Jackson of the Boston Conservatory, where she focused on voice technique and music theory. In January this year, Abigail auditioned for, and was selected to attend the Fine Arts Summer Academy in Nashville, which was hosted by the Julliard-trained, Annie Moses Band. Abigail impressed the faculty so much that she was chosen for a solo performance at the Ford Theatre in the Country Music Hall of Fame, where she captivated the sold-out crowd with her rendition of Miranda Lambert’s, ‘The House That Built Me’. Abigail shortly thereafter found herself on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry, singing with country legend, and double platinum star, Josh Turner. The overall experience of the Fine Arts Summer Academy inspired Abigail to make her debut album, ‘Rejoice’.<\/p>\n

With seven classic Christmas songs, ranging from the beautiful, ‘O Holy Night’, to ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’, Abigail’s lilting vocals are accompanied by layers of Irish Harp, Irish Tin Whistle, Soprano, Alto, and Tenor Recorder, and Lute, skilfully performed by Celtic musician, James Spalink. The album has been produced by award-winning producer, Michael Crittenden. Crittenden is an accomplished musician in his own right, having performed with the likes of Todd Rundgren, The Doobie Brothers, Hootie and the Blowfish, John McVey, and Peter Frampton.<\/p>\n
