We first introduced you to Welsh singer songwriter Danielle Lewis back in June, with her song, ‘Anywhere Is Home’, an up-tempo song which is the perfect introduction to Danielle’s pure, folky vocals. Danielle is set to release her new EP, ‘Fly’, on November 9, featuring six tracks, including ‘Anywhere Is Home’. A double A side single for the title track, ‘Fly’, and ‘Belong’, was released on October 21.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

‘Fly’ is Danielle Lewis’s third EP, and is out on Folkstock Records. The release of the EP precedes an exciting and prestigious opportunity for Danielle, performing live at BBCs Maida Vale studios, in London. Funded by Arts Council Wales, ‘Fly’ was recorded by Lauren Deakin Davies, and Richard Llewellyn (best known for Welsh alt pop band, Paper Aeroplanes). It was additionally produced by Lauren, while Gethin John produced the song, ‘Anywhere Is Home’. Danielle co-wrote ‘West Coast Sun’ and ‘Along This Time’ with Richard Llewellyn.<\/p>\n

‘Fly’ is a light and airy, mostly uptempo EP, with the highlights being ‘Belong’ and the title track. We particularly enjoyed the very bouncy ‘Anywhere Is Home’ and the Welsh language track, ‘Hiraeth’. In short we enjoyed the entire EP – Danielle’s vocals are beautifully mesmerising and ‘Hiraeth’ conjures up visions of her singing on a Welsh mountainside.<\/p>\n

Danielle was accepted onto BBC Cymru Wales’ Emerging Talent Horizons Project for 2016, which not only gave her the opportunity to perform at Maida Vale, but also to showcase at The Great Escape in Brighton, and Festival No. 6 in Portmeirion. The project is run by BBC Horizons\/Gorwelion, and is provided by the BBC, in association with Arts Council Wales.<\/p>\n
