Manchester power\u00a0trio\u00a0The G-O-D have given essentiallypop a sneak preview of four tracks ahead of the release of their\u00a0self-titled debut album.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The band, fronted by\u00a0Dub Sex guitarist Chris Bridgett, showcased the tracks ahead of their upcoming headline show at Salford’s Eagle Inn on 14 October.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Something of a Manchester supergroup, the modestly-monikered trio, also feature ex-Fall<\/strong>\u00a0and Ian Brown\u00a0<\/strong>band\u00a0drummer\u00a0Simon Wolstencroft<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Bridgett promised raw punk energy when he announced the formation of the band in a highly entertaining interview<\/a> with us in back in February and on the evidence of these four-tracks he’s keeping to his word.<\/p>\n

Impulsive\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>is a down and dirty\u00a0romp in the style of The<\/strong>\u00a0New York Dolls<\/strong>, while\u00a0There Goes My Baby<\/strong><\/em> is a swampy groove that recalls\u00a0Run Run Run\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>by the Velvets.<\/p>\n

Even better is the hook-laden\u00a0Going Over The Top,<\/strong><\/em> which\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/i>sounds like\u00a0The Pixies\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>on speed.<\/p>\n

As for the\u00a0Iggy Pop\u00a0<\/strong>referencing\u00a0We Are Stars<\/strong><\/em>, well you can make you own mind up about that one by watching the video below.<\/p>\n
