All of South London\u2019s rock and punk scene will be performing to honour local friend and talented guitarist George Russell who sadly passed away. The band have clearly had their worlds torn apart and disrupted to a degree most will fortunately never have to know, but it is with testament to their love for each other and the art they believe in that Phobophobes will continue.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u201cOn June 18 this year it was with shock and great sadness that we heard of the passing of our friend and guitarist. We have organised a day in his memory on what would have been the weekend before his 25th birthday.\u201d Phobophobes<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In memory of George, Phobophobes will host and play at a day long festival at Brixton Windmill on Saturday September 10th with a host of local bands including The Rebel, Goat Girl, Sweat, Meatraffle and members of Fat White Family. Proceeds from the day will go towards the publication of a book of poems and lyrics written by George. For more info on this one day event go to Facebook here.<\/a><\/p>\n

They have a new single called \u2018Human Baby\u2019 due for release in November with a stunning B-side entitled \u2018Free The Naked Rambler\u2019 which was also the last track George ever recorded with the band. Both tracks will feature on their debut album released next year.<\/p>\n

The band will be heading out on tour supporting Telegram between October 27 and November 3 where they will continue to offer their growing reputation and dedicated fans the sort of sleazy glam rhythms the band are becoming synonymous with, meshed with a pantheon of sounds from an eerie yet somewhat cheery afterlife.<\/p>\n
