The Cyrenaics, an unsigned and underground indie\/alternative rock band from Richmond, Virginia showcase a variety of great music with a slew of EP and LP releases within a short span of a few years. \u00a0The band can be classified into many different styles of music because of their vast list of releases but their sound is mostly similar to psychedelic, noise rock, lo-fi, acid folk, experimental, and avant-garde.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Cyrenaics\u00a0began as a solo endeavour by drummer\/recording experimentalist Aaron Apaul as he compiled some recordings he did by himself between 2013 and 2014 and began to organize them into a three album project based on overlapping storylines of fictional characters, Jake Lake and Mary Louise. In 2015 he was joined by guitarist Connor Wood whom helped to finalize the three album LP entitled, The Ballad Of MaryLou: Acts I, II, & III, which features one of The Cyrenaics\u00a0most popular tracks to date ‘Lonely Friday Night’.<\/div>\n

Ben Kelly would briefly join in on bass through the next couple of recordings, ‘Know Your Vice’ and ‘King’s Mistress’, as Wesley Boyd was introduced on guitar in Fall of 2015 to collaborate on the ‘King’s Mistress’ recording sessions, which would be the bands first release as a full 4-piece band. \u00a0Kelly left the band in early 2016 as Jeffery O’Neal Harper joined the band on bass while continuing to release a couple of experimental projects, She’s Gone To Plasma and Snake Oil Woman adding to the live set list of fan favorites the singles ‘Until The End Of Night’ and ‘Spring Forward’.<\/div>\n
