TIRELESS London\u00a0post-punkers\u00a0Leika are hoping to build on their growing live reputation\u00a0with a new studio album due out in October.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Described by BBC Radio 6 Music’s Tom Robinson\u00a0<\/strong>as\u00a0‘the catchiest bits of The Jam<\/strong> with added sax appeal’, the band have been working with big name producer\u00a0Greg Haver<\/strong>, whose past clients include Manic Street Preachers<\/strong> and\u00a0Bullet For My Valentine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Known for their incessant gigging, the five-piece, who’ve also been compared to\u00a0Talking Heads<\/strong> and\u00a0Buzzcocks,\u00a0<\/strong>played\u00a0the Camden Rocks Festival <\/strong>in June,\u00a0<\/strong>alongside the likes of\u00a0The Cribs\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<\/strong>Libertines<\/strong>‘\u00a0Carl Barat<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Founded by singer-guitarists\u00a0Romano Giorgi\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Jonathan Mann,\u00a0<\/strong>Leika – which means Play in Icelandic – have been putting the final touches to the follow-up to their well-received first album\u00a0Space On Tuesday<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Entitled\u00a0Love On The Run<\/strong><\/em> the new long player will be released on the band’s own\u00a0Leika<\/strong> label in the Autumn.<\/p>\n

Leika play the London Water Rats on October 7, with more yet to be announced dates to follow.<\/p>\n
