Having cut his teeth\u00a0as a guitarist for\u00a0punk\/new wave royalty like The Ramones<\/strong> and Chrissie Hynde<\/strong>, Snaith is clearly a well connected musician with an eye for startling and unusual collaborations.<\/p>\n Bold Ego Fledging<\/em> opens with twanging Jaw’s Harp, courtesy of Hungarian\u00a0maestro Konokunok<\/strong>, which then gives way to robotic bursts of Snaith’s own fuzz guitar.<\/p>\n Vegas-based singer Ang Kerfoot\u00a0<\/b>adds to the drama with surreal lyrics and spooky chanted vocals which \u00a0sound almost like an incantation.<\/p>\n Having also played alongside David Johansen<\/strong> and Johnny Thunders<\/strong> of Morrissey<\/strong> faves\u00a0The New York Dolls<\/strong>, Snaith has maybe learned a thing or two about blending a sense of theatre with raw punk aggression.<\/p>\n Hence the Bowie-like video, featuring dancers in CND gas masks, choreographed by New Zealander\u00a0Parris Goebel<\/strong>, noted for her work with\u00a0Rihanna, J-Lo\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Nicki Minaj.<\/strong><\/p>\n Cool without being contrived, it’s a dark, daring audio-visual package that recalls the best of rock-dance crossovers like Prodigy’s<\/b>\u00a0Firestarter<\/strong><\/em>, or\u00a0Loaded <\/em><\/strong>by\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Primal Scream.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
