Mackin Carroll is one of the rising artists in this genre, with his second EP, &#8216;Damascus&#8217; just released we decided to find out a little more about this LA-based star who also fronts The Nova Darlings.<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"s1\">Opening track, &#8216;Ashes On The Bridge&#8217; introduces us to the guitar-based sound, the simplicity of this track and the overpowering vocals make it a hard hitting emotive track. Self-proclaimed favourite track &#8216;Cigarettes &amp; Fatherhood&#8217; talks about just those two things in his trademark folk fashion. Speaking of society trying to inflict certain mannerisms on you and also your family when you\u2019re bringing them up, this thought-provoking track tells of the struggles between two conflicting habits in a beautiful breath-taking fashion. Following the theme of the release, Carroll has written songs with personal connections explaining,<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201c<\/span><span class=\"s3\">The songs are personal in a way I hadn&#8217;t really explored yet. I didn&#8217;t plan on sharing them at first.
