With a sound like the new wave bands of the 80s (think Depeche Mode and The Human League), Oakland, California artists Introflirt present the first single from their forthcoming second album, ‘Temporary Heaven’.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

‘Frozen Lace’ is the first song from Introflirt after the release of their self titled debut album, which was released in 2015.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis came from the longing to rid myself of guilt and fear of consequences when approaching certain desires,\u201d explains vocalist and lyricist Ben Benjamin. \u201cGrowing up in a religious family – although my parents have pretty much been kicked out of every church they ever attended – installed many programs I\u2019ve worked hard to disassemble.\u201d<\/p>\n

‘Frozen Lace’ is a\u00a0downtempo track, synth-led and dreamy. Benjamin’s velvety smooth vocals\u00a0evokes a certain anxiousness\u00a0and it’s this anxiety which seems to pervade most of their songs\u00a0on the album. Describing their sound as “croonwave”, Introflirt break down the idea of what electronic music *should* be like, and instead reinterpret it in spacey pops, sparkles, buzzes and whirrs.<\/p>\n

‘Temporary Heaven’ is a great album, with a sound that takes us back to the 80s, with a blissful nostalgia. It seems Introflirt have tapped into the next big thing in electronic music, we’ve seen a few Californian bands exploring this style of music, and it’s a sound we’re enjoying.<\/p>\n
