‘Dare To Be Wild’, following Mary Reynolds’\u00a0quest to win the gold medal at 2002’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show – and beyond – launches today at the famous flower show itself.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The film follows Mary’s\u00a0journey from the green hills of her native Ireland, to the desert highlands of Ethiopia, and to London’s Chelsea, for the garden design competition in 2002. ‘Dare To Be Wild’ is an against-all-odds story of a modern-day heroine, whose quest is to show the world the power of nature – wild nature – one garden and one vast desert, at a time.<\/p>\n

Led by Emma Greenwell (‘Love And Friendship’, ‘Pride And Prejudice And Vampires’) as Mary Reynolds and Tom Hughes (‘The Game’, ‘About Time’ and ‘Cemetery Junction’) as Christy Collard, the film also stars Alex Macqueen, Janie Dee, Christine Marzano, Alaa Safi, and Michael Hough.<\/p>\n

Vivienne de Courcy is an Irish Writer, Director, and Environmentalist. Her goal is to change the world through the medium of powerful films, elevating the human spirit, and inspiring people to act. Vivienne has written 17 screenplays covering various humanity related themes.<\/p>\n

Vivienne spent years as a corporate finance attorney in Chicago, working on projects such as ‘Art And The Brian’, and the Clinton Presidential Campaign. ‘Dare To Be Wild’ is Vivienne’s feature film directorial debut. Vivienne also wrote ‘Dare To Be Wild’.<\/p>\n

The film seeks the goal of preserving and regenerating natural habitats worldwide, with the launch marking a call to action to bring wild nature back into that little bit of space we ourselves control: our own gardens.<\/p>\n

‘Dare To Be Wild’ was produced by Sarah Johnson, who is a former Portfolio Manager at financial services firm, Franklin Templeton, which she left in order to launch children’s clothing company, ‘Spike & Annie’. Ms Johnson has dedicated herself to education, science, and conservation. Her film credits include, ‘The Invisible War’, ‘The Devil’s Knot’, ‘The Immigrant’, and the Academy Award winning, ‘Birdman’.<\/p>\n

Also producing ‘Dare To Be Wild’, were Rebecca O’Flanagan and Robert Walpole, who jointly run Treasure Entertainment.\u00a0Their most recent productions include Phil Harrisson\u2019s, ‘The Good Man’, Lisa Barros D\u2019Sa and Glenn Leyburnn\u2019s BAFTA nominated, ‘Good Vibrations’, and ‘Primeval (Series 5)’.<\/p>\n

Other credits include ‘My Brothers’, TV series, ‘Your Bad Self’, and ‘The Eclipse’ (which screened in competition at Tribeca Film Festival winning Best Actor for Ciaran Hinds). ‘The Eclipse’ also won Best European Film at The Sitges Film Festival (2009) and Best Film at the Irish Film and Television Academy Awards (2010).<\/p>\n

They also produced he award winning television series ‘The Running Mate’, and the films ‘Shrooms’, ‘The Mighty Celt’, ‘Man About Dog’, ‘Saltwater’, and ‘I Went Down’.<\/p>\n

‘Dare To Be Wild’ will be released in UK and Irish cinemas from 26 August.<\/strong><\/p>\n
