We went down to Shoreditch last night for the launch of Ayelle’s latest single, ‘Machine’. We’ve featured the London-based Swedish singer a few times here on EP, but this was the first opportunity we’ve had to hear her in person.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

It was a packed house at Miranda, the venue in the basement of Ace London, a swanky hotel on Shoreditch High Street. There’s a sign on the wall which says something along the lines of, “Quiet please, they are performing”, and we were surprised to see that it was obeyed. Ayelle was supported by Tom Dunne and his band, and when they started to play and sing, the hub bub of the audience instantly dropped away.<\/p>\n

We noticed Ayelle long before she took to the stage. Although she is quite tiny, her presence is huge, and it was in evidence when she was wandering around the crowd, talking to the sound desk, security, and others, before she finally got up to sing, at about 8.30.<\/p>\n

Sipping every so often from a cup, Ayelle held the audience in the palm of her hand, as she sang, taking us through crowd favourites, such as ‘Waiting’, her new track, ‘Machine’, and a few new ones from her EP of the same name. It was a great evening, with many in the audience filming and taking photos, and dancing.\u00a0One thing we all had in common however was that all of our eyes were on Ayelle, and our ears were taking in her beautiful voice.<\/p>\n
