Indie-folk trio, August and After from the London Royal Academy of Music, debut their EP, \u2018Cascades\u2019. <\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u201cStunning London acoustic trio\u201d \u2013 Folk Radio<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The EP, which was released on the 21<\/span>st<\/sup><\/span> of March this year contains the electrifying singles, \u2018Wolves\u2019, \u2018Halley\u2019, \u2018Vancouver Waves\u2019, \u2018Elegy\u2019 and \u2018Somewhere In Florence\u2019. ‘Cascades’ was recorded with French producer, Jonathan Lef\u00e8vre-Reich and showcases a wave of euphoric genius, within acoustic guitar and violin solos which enrich the layers of their three-part harmonies. <\/span><\/p>\n

The band is made up of Ned (vocals), Vedantha (guitar and vocals) and violinist Jordan, who all met in London, after graduating from university. After the band was formed on London\u2019s Southbank one afternoon, \u2018August And After\u2019 have experienced sell-out shows and several European tours. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Wolves\u2019 is the lead single in \u2018Cascades\u2019 and can be described as the emotional energy between human interaction and essentially the relationships within that. \u2018Halley\u2019 was inspired by a conversation between a young Vedantha and his father, to which he was introduced to the transience of mortality. \u2018Somewhere in Florence\u2019 explores feelings of regret and lost aspirations. The EP is also a personal reflection from the band members\u2019 to their shared moments with fans. <\/span><\/p>\n

The band can be compared to the likes of Noah and The Whale and Of Mice and Men, with influences drawing from their heroes Ben Howard, and Bon Iver. <\/span><\/p>\n
