Sweden’s Vita Bergen are set to release their new album, ‘Disconnection’ in April\u00a0in the UK, through Glitterhouse Records.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The band released their debut EP, ‘Curtains’, on a $500 budget back in 2014. Since that time they’ve become one of the most talked about bands in Europe, topping the iTunes chart, performing at sold out venues in Germany, Switzerland and Scandinavia, and having been played on US national TV. They’ve received several\u00a0awards in Sweden, and are considered by many to be the next big thing on the European indie scene.<\/p>\n

Lead singer, William\u00a0Hellstro\u0308m, has been described as “a cult leader on speed”, while co-founder Robert Jallinder is one of Scandinavia’s most eccentric guitarists. Their intense, often chaotic live shows, have left the band with concussions, nails in their feet, and slashed fingers – and yet, they make pop music, and cite their main influences as being MGMT, Pink Floyd, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and The Brian Jonestown Massacre.<\/p>\n

Vita Bergen isn’t your ordinary pop group. William is studying Medicine in Gothenburg, whilst Robert is training to be a Psychologist in Stockholm. This distance means a lot of their work is done through a combination of phone calls, and regular travelling. ‘Disconnection’ is the result of three summers spent isolated in an old cabin in the forest, with no access to the outside world via moblile\u00a0phone or internet. The final outcome and angle of the album was deeply influenced by the passing of several close relatives during this period.<\/p>\n

Vita Bergen, who have emerged from Sweden’s warehouse scene, where they first made their name, and headed by two straight A students, is as interesting as they sound.<\/p>\n
