An infectious, uplifting pop track, ‘Soar’, from Lee Gilbert, is a song about bettering oneself, about rising from adversity, and about getting over difficulties and soaring above negativity. In short, it’s a song with a message and a meaning for everyone – never give up, and follow your dreams.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Lee Gilbert is a very versatile performer. He works as a soloist, in a duo with a pianist, with an jazz quintet, and with a full seventeen piece Big Band. In 2008 he wrote ‘Come Fly With Me – The Big Band Musical’, in collaboration with Steven Coleman. The show, directed by Richard Tunley, had its premiere at the Wales Millennium Centre in 2009, and received critical acclaim. A full sized musical comedy, it featured a cast of fifteen, as well as a live Big Band every night. ‘Come Fly With Me’ was also the subject of an ITV documentary, following its progress.<\/p>\n

Lee has toured nationally,\u00a0creating the role of Will Hay in the original production of Michael Bogdanov\u2019s \u2018Amazing Grace\u2019 written by Mal Pope, for the Wales Theatre Company. This year he’s been wowing audiences in Switzerland and was recently seen on Channel 4’s ‘Come Dine With Me’ (Jan 2016).<\/p>\n

‘Soar’ was written and produced by Darren Parry, a multi-award winning Welsh singer songwriter. Darren was the 2004 UK Songwriting Champion, and runner up in the US ‘Song Of The Year’ competition. Darren has songwriting awards from Billboard, Unison, and many others.<\/p>\n

‘Soar’\u00a0was recorded at Shabbey Road Studios in Caerphilly, South Wales and features\u00a0Al Steele, playing bass (amongst other instruments), Darren Parry playing keyboards\/backing vox, and\u00a0Rob Devereux on guitar.<\/p>\n
