Better known for his work in German alt-rock band, Liquido, 7fields, real name Wolfgang Schr\u00f6dl, has released a stunning acoustic cover of The Strokes’ ‘Heart In A Cage’. It’s the first solo release from the artist, and will be followed by many more this year.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Liquido, whose song ‘Narcotic’ was voted second best song of all time by a German radio station,\u00a0went their separate ways in 2008, over personal discrepancies among the band members. Lead singer\u00a0Schr\u00f6dl decided to head in the direction of electronic-folk music, and sees 7fields as a journey leading him back home to who he truly is. The name ‘7fields’ is itself symbolic of that journey, an indirect translation of his childhood district, Sieben Morgen.<\/p>\n

Speaking of his craft,\u00a0Schr\u00f6dl said,<\/p>\n

“I compose and pre-produce at home, trying a lot out at my own pace, mostly in the dead of night.<\/p>\n

After years of working in bands, it was about time to focus on my own ideas that reflect where I\u2019m standing now in my life.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Schr\u00f6dl plays all the instruments himself, and collaborates on the final production with Giovanni Nicoletta, at the Chez Ch\u00e9rie Studio in Berlin, along with Nackt, resident producer at Chez Ch\u00e9rie.<\/p>\n
