\"The Named after Keith Richards’ Bentley, Glasgow three piece, The Blue Lenas, bring back the 60s with their blend of funk, rock’n’roll, and psychedelia.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The trio have been working on their\u00a0EP, ‘False Idols’, the follow up to their eponymous debut, and it’s definitely not one to be missed. The Blue Lenas are anything but blue, with their music a veritable rainbow of sound.<\/p>\n

‘False Idols’ is EP in name only –\u00a0\u00a0it’s more like an album with its 6 tracks, and each of these has their own unique flavour. Second track, ‘Life Is a Wonderful Thing’ seems to channel John Lennon vocally, while track three, ‘Found a New Life’ somehow manages to combine the California sound of The Doors with jazz legend, Miles Davis.<\/p>\n

The Blue Lenas comprise Jamie Reilly on guitar and vox, Scott Beaton on bass and vox, and Jordan Kelly completing\u00a0the three on drums. The band take their influences from the likes of The Rolling Stones, George Clinton and the afore-mentioned Miles Davis, and infuse their sound with hints of the music they like. The Blue Lenas say of their music:<\/p>\n

“We are against rules when creating music, however the only structure that we have in place is that we will try to remain as a three piece. the less elements you have the more you are forced to be creative and innovative; hopefully this will be revealed and heard in our music.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

With an EP that sounds as dirty and gritty as this one, we believe that The Blue Lenas have only just scratched the surface of what they’re capable of, and we’re eager to hear more from them.<\/p>\n
