Stockport based band, Mohawk Radio, release their first official single, ‘Two Million Heartbeats’, on February 19.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Following the success of their two previous EP releases, the band recorded ‘2 Million Heartbeats’ with Nick Hollis, at LMC Records studio, one of the UKs fastest growing independent record labels. Mohawk Radio will celebrate the single’s launch with a headline gig at Club Academy, Manchester, on February 20.<\/p>\n

Mohawk Radio comprises\u00a0lead singer, Mia Page, who originates from Bermuda and who arrived in Manchester a few years ago to follow her musical dream, and three local musicians from Stockport, James Gregory on lead guitar, Sean Frankland on bass, and David Quinn on drums. Described as “Cher meets Metallica”, it’s their collective influences and unique band chemistry that make Mohawk Radio so exciting: heavy rock musicianship meets a powerful and alluring rock vocal.<\/p>\n

‘Two Million Heartbeats’ came about after Mia Page watched Fleetwood Mac play Madison Square Gardens in New York. The feel of the song was inspired by the writing of Stevie Nicks.<\/p>\n

The title for the song comes from a misheard advertisement. Mia says,<\/p>\n

\u201cI heard it in a commercial about having 2 billion heartbeats in a lifetime, but I miss heard it for two\u00a0million. I just thought it was such a wonderful idea. The idea of loving someone with every heartbeat you have in your life. From the first breath to the last….From the cradle to the grave.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
