Los Angeles Dream Rock duo, The Open Feel, released ‘Retrofire’ in January this year. The sixth in a series of digital single releases, the song has an early 80s flavour about it – part Punk part New Romantic part New Wave – all parts very agreeable.<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

With Katie Harris taking Vox and Guitars and Tom Brayton on Drums and Bass, The Open Feel began as a songwriting collaboration, and soon they decided to create music that was “as honest as possible for the two of us”. <\/span><\/p>\n

After about 18 months of experimenting and writing, the found the “sound” they wanted – The Open Feel was born. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Open Feel resonate the 80s – but with modern technology. The influences they cite are evident, including Siouxsie and the Banshees, Pattie Smith, U2, and The Cure: Siouxsie, and The Cure most clearly leap out.<\/span><\/p>\n
