Stereotribes aims, in an age where aspiring artists can record an album in their own bedroom, to reach their fans – their tribes, if you like – in the same way.

Stereotribes is a new crowdfunding platform – it’s Kickstarter meets Bandcamp – and then some. A promotional platform for artists, combining an audience development hub, integrated into a crowdfunding engine. User friendly, Stereotribes hopes to soon become an integral part of amplifying the passion of any musician.<\/p>\n

By reaching out to the broader spectrum of the entertainment and creative industries, Stereotribes hopes to set itself apart from other crowdfunding artist sites. And it’s not just artists they’re targetting: Stereotribes can be used to fund any music-related products; music documentaries, music apps and channels, biographies of musicians, merchandise – even music therapy!<\/p>\n

Coined by founder & CEO Travers Lee, ‘Tribefunding’\u00a0Tribefunding is here to stay and continued developments within the digital consumption process are ensuring it\u2019s destined to be the future. Stereotribes places the \u2018Tribe\u2019 at the centre of the experience, creating amplification from connected passion.<\/p>\n

Travers Lee says:<\/p>\n

Stereotribes is working at ground level, playing and communicating with the tribes, because all the brilliant things I’ve experienced in music are due to inspiration, collaboration, hard work and loads of fun!”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In the 90s Travers stepped into the ‘dot-com’ boom, becoming a web designer and building one of the top digital design businesses in Brisbane catering to the music & entertainment industry. In 2005, he moved to London and became the senior technical & creative designer for an international fashion e-commerce company.<\/p>\n

He moved to the Middle East in 2010, launching the digital department for Qatar Museums (QM). Over the next four years he co-launched the Google Arts programme, led Qatar\u2019s National strategy to support Arts Education, created and led Qatar’s first museum membership programme and became a Cultural Ambassador, selected by the Chairperson of QM, H.E. Sheikha Al-Mayassa, for his contribution to arts and culture. His digital team went on to build one of the largest museum social media communities in the world.<\/p>\n

With 20 years as a professional musician, entrepreneur, marketer and digital strategist,\u00a0Travers hopes to take over the world with his Stereotribes vision. Travers has his own tribe of dedicated international industry experts coming from the music industry, technology, communications, branding and design spheres. Together they are creating a relevant and personal music crowdfunding hub to benefit ALL music tribes.<\/p>\n

Stereotribes will be launching their new platform at Alleycat, London, on October 23, starting at 7pm. Entertainment will be provided by the fantastic Glen Matlock (original memeber of The Sex Pistols), who will be performing a special acoustic set, as well as more amazing live acts and DJ sets yet to be announced.<\/p>\n
