The alias of Bristol based singer-songwriter Joseph Dunn, Maybug writes organic and deeply soulful music. He’s recently released ‘Out To Sea’, the first track from his debut EP, ‘Pollen Odyssey’. Speaking about ‘Out To Sea’, Joseph said:<\/p>\n

“It (Out To Sea) is a song about how there are times that I struggle with my state of mind, but that’s OK, and not a completely bad thing – and that it is a part of who I am. And also letting go and forgiving myself for that. It is also a thank you to to those people who took the time to help me, and how I look forward to being able to help them out whenever they should need it.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Joseph Dunn started classical guitar lessons aged 9, and continued until he was 15, when fueled by daily doses of Nick Drake’s ‘Pink Moon’, Outkast’s ‘The Love Below’ and Damien Rice’s ‘O’, he started writing and playing his own songs – all of which combined to make him the artist he is today.<\/p>\n

At 21, having dropped out of University for the second time, Joseph picked up his guitar and travelled across Europe in a van, writing and performing. It was during this trip that he decided to focus solely on his music, and Maybug was born. While travelling,\u00a0Joseph met the very talented Enda Gallen, an Irish producer who works from his flat in Putney, and long with Enda’s friend Ben Crutchfield, spent some time recording a few songs at Enda’s flat. This became ‘Pollen Odyssey’, due for release this September.<\/p>\n
