We\u2019re massive fans of bands with memorable names and Hicari fit the bill perfectly. We don\u2019t often come across new synthy-pop rock bands but when we do it seems it\u2019s worth the wait.<\/p>\n
Based in Liverpool, the quintet released their first track ‘Don\u2019t Stop (For The Red Light)’ which has since received plays on BBC Introducing along with 1,500 plays across Soundcloud within the first three weeks.<\/p>\n
When we listen to ‘Don\u2019t Stop (For The Red Light)’ we\u2019re hit with a wave of synths which continue to build, but fade away as the dual vocals of Shayaan Oshidar and Ryan Bickley. Both flaunt different strengths with Oshidar\u2019s delicate efforts providing reflection times with since lyrics including \u2018take every chance, don\u2019t back down\u2019 whilst Bickley\u2019s contrast with a stronger twang. We love dual vocals especially when used effectively as Hicari have perfected how to do. On arrival of the chorus we\u2019re hooked with this track as the repetitive backline gets underneath the skin as we find ourselves bopping along to the infectious beat.<\/p>\n
We\u2019re absolutely hooked with this pop-rock track with lashings of synths providing an excellent summer soundtrack!<\/p>\n
