LKeys – ‘Between Me And You’

LKeys has opened for legendary artists like Trey Songz, YG, and Nipsey Hussle, and has a unique cadence and swagger that draws you into every line and lyric. With a highly adaptive style, LKeys has been mastering his rap since he was just 14 years old, and is effortlessly able to transition from speaking about deeply personal experiences taking on a more carefree and humorous approach. His latest track, ‘Between Me And You’, definitely leans on the humorous side, with his smooth-talking flows and versatile music style helping him secure a strong following across all major streaming platforms.

The slick lyrics in ‘Between Me And You’ are jam-packed with descriptive imagery, and the accompanying video certainly comes up to the same standard. It opens with LKeys getting cosy with another man’s lady, and while he’s in the middle of romancing her, the suspicious boyfriend bursts through the door, with LKeys having to find a sneaky way out of the apartment. He nearly makes it by posing as a cleaner, until he is exposed by a dropped a condom. Eventually LKeys makes his victorious escape by hopping in a getaway car, all the while while the mid-tempo, free-flowing beat adds to the comedic drama of the video. ‘Between Me And You’ fully captures LKeys’s talent for storytelling and his message of not ever taking himself too seriously.
