Freefade feat. Watermeln Releases Single ‘Is It True Love’

Set for release this Friday, October 22, ‘Is It True Love’ is the new single from Freefade, featuring Watermeln. The track is accompanied by an animated music video, which is heavily influenced by Anime.

Freefade’s musical style has always been original and creative, with the aim of not ticking all the boxes, nor being restricted to a one-genre box, but rather to aim outside of the box.

The artist grew up in a musical household, and one of his strongest memories is being sat at the family piano at the age of 4. He was immersed in the music played in his house, with artists such as Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones filling his ears and mind, and without a doubt he’s been influenced by their sound. He discovered electronic music in his early adult years, which led him to further musical exploration, and critically acclaimed success, such as winning the EDM category of the 2015 UK Songwriting Contest, and the 2016 UK leg of the Seat Musicathon.

‘Is It True Love’ was an idea first conceived by Freefade at the age of 10, and he brought it off the backburner after seeing Synthwave surge in popularity. Freefade has a longstanding love of 80s synth music, and despite the pandemic, and the lack of a recording studio – and despite vocalist Watermeln living in a different country to him – ‘Is It True Love’ was finally brought to life, and is set for release on October 22.
