Josefin Silèn Releases Her New EP, ‘Face the City’

Based in Finland, Josefin Silén, is a singer and an actor, who started writing songs at the young age of 9. She competed in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, and at the age of 18 was offered a record deal. From there she started work as a demo, and backing singer, for Helsinki Records, and in 2011 she was a backing vocalist for Finland’s entry at the Eurovision Song Contest, performing at both the semi final and the final.

Although Josefin Silén’s main musical background has thus far been in musical theatre, she doesn’t want to solely be defined by this, and so with the release of her new EP, ‘Face The City’, she opens the door for more opportunities; without doubt these shall come.

The three tracks (plus instrumental) of ‘Face The City’ are unapologetic, emotive, and powerful, and examine themes of longing, love, and torment, but addressing these subjects in a fresh and distinctive way. Josefin Silén’s vocals are ethereal, while the instrumentation is emotional and evocative. ‘Face The City’ should certainly resonate with the listener, as it invites them to really listen to the lyrics. Josefin Silén’s stunning vocals are powerful and courageous, and her obvious talent is evident with every single note.

‘Face The City’ is available now and can be streamed and downloaded here. You can find out more about Josefin Silén and her music online on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
