Got Milk? Irish Band Go From Strength To Strength With Release Of New Single ‘You’re So.’, And ‘2, The EP’

A lot of things go better with milk: chocolate biscuits; peanut butter sandwiches; donuts; even curries. One thing’s for certain however, and that is that your ears will be waaayy better with the addition of the latest release from Irish band, milk., their new EP, creatively called, ‘2, The EP’.

The seven track EP, released yesterday 19 August, follows on from the premiere by Zane Lowe on August 11, of their latest single, ‘You’re So.’ (released 12 August) which is also the first track of the EP. The four piece from Dublin are at their shoe-gazey best with the new tracks, drawing the listener in on a pure wave of musical pleasure. This is no better exemplified than in second track, ‘I Don’t Mind Falling In Love With You’, where vocalist Mark McKenna’s vocals coalesce with the fuzzy reverb of the guitars. It’s a sonic sensation.

The fuzzy guitars have to be one of the signature sounds of milk., and McKenna’s vocals are their human counterpart. Somehow they are able to convey a vibe of nonchalance, while you know damned well they care very much indeed – the members of milk. are consummate musicians, all very talented craftsmen.

Their 2021 single releases, ‘In LA’ and ‘You&I’ both feature on ‘2, The EP’, and received considerable support from BBC Introducing, KEXP, RTE2FM, and Spin Southwest. It’s certain that new single, ‘You’re So.’, will receive the same, if not more, airplay.

Speaking of ‘You’re So.’, Mark McKenna said,

“‘You’re So.’ is a song I wrote when I was younger and thought I was in love. I had no idea how to convey that to another person at the time and so I decided to list the reasons why, which later made me realise I wasn’t really in love.”

Comprising Mark McKenna, Conor Gorman, Conor King, and Morgan Wilson, milk. have been going from strength strength since their launch on New Years Day 2019, and the release of their debut, ‘1, The EP’, last summer. The new single and EP come ahead of milk.’s forthcoming tour, details of which can be found here, and include sold out dates in London and Dublin.
