Samer Releases Debut Single ‘I Love Angela Merkel’

Samer makes his debut with an homage to Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany. It might sound strange, until you realise he was a Syrian refugee who was given another chance to fulfil his dreams in Germany. The new single pulls no punches from the very start – entitled ‘I Love Angela Merkel’, the witty, energetic track is out on 30 July, and is destined to become a club anthem.

With a high octane old school EDM rhythm, ‘I Love Angela Merkel’ sees Samer channel Benny Benassi’s classic, ‘Satisfaction’, with a possible nod to Günther. The end result is a fun song with a serious message – ‘I Love Angela Merkel’ outlines Samer’s clear love of being in Germany, having the opportunity to learn about democracy, and the chance to follow his dreams and once again experience freedom. Once he was in Germany it didn’t take long for Samer to fall in love with Angela Merkel’s personality, and take a different view on the German leader, who is often seen as stern and hard of heart.

Samer always knew he was going to be a musician, even though he trained as an architect, his heart clearly laying with creativity. This study was not lost however, as it taught him how to build a story, and bring to life each design – a skill he’s poured into his music. As a Syrian, he found his inspiration in Syrian music, but at the same time he’s always been driven by American and other Western genres.

As much as Samer professes his love for Angela Merkel, he also gives thanks to social media, which allows him to express himself, and feed his passion for music. You can find out more about Samer on Facebook and Instagram.

‘I Love Angela Merkel’ is out now and is available to stream and download here. The music video for ‘I Love Angela Merkel’ is set for release on July 30.
