We’ve not heard from Xavier Toscano for a while, but like buses, three videos have come all at once! There is nothing the San Francisco native can’t do; he’s a master of all genres, and quickly adapts to the mood of the room, or the vibe of the people, whether it be an intimate gathering or a festival; he knows automatically how to speak to the heart of each person. Spicing his musical style with EDM, rap, rock, reggae, and R&B, while imbuing it with a massive amount of pop energy, his sound is equally relevant in the club, the shopping centre, and on the soundtrack of a tv show.
Xavier Toscano knows that we all miss clubbing and raving, and so he replicates it in the new music video for ‘The Remedy (Feel Alright)’. The flashing lasers, the thumping bass, the echoing synths, and the feeling of letting it all go is all in the song and the clip; every aspect of the nightclub life is encompassed in 3 and a half minutes, with buoyant lyrics and robotic vocals and funky music, paired with the pulse we’re all missing most of all. Listeners are made to be the life of the party no matter where they are. It’s incredibly danceable, and both Xavier and his backing dancers give us some moves to work on.
Next clip, ‘Make It Look Easy’, sees Toscano in a mansion backed up by his dancers, who act out every word and move on every beat. There’s no subtlety as to how it describes all the things the Toscano is capable of, but hey, why should he be subtle! With bass rumbling against light percussion and continuous synthesizers, we see Toscano in his element, as a natural performer who can hold his own in any situation.
Finally, the music video for ‘You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real) vs. Vogue’ takes a complete a 180 in in terms of setting and style, compared to ‘Made It Look Easy’. With a muted background in order to stress the fashionable attire, which Toscano switches up many times, along with Vogue dance moves, and wild electro-pop, we’re left in no doubt about his abilities and talent.
