Kelsey Coleman – ‘Break Mine’

Daniela Federici is a master of the black and white portrait, and together with pop singer Kelsey Coleman they’ve made a video that’s compelling right from the word go, with Coleman filling out every line and every syllable of her new single, ‘Break Mine’, while Federici captures every aspect of the performance. The clip is so watchable is the clip that you might might miss that it’s entirely footage of Coleman’s face, set against a black background.

The video is a perfect match for the song, intense, yet eloquently simplistic. ‘Break Mine’ is moody, confessional, and heartfelt – Kelsey’s vocals are sublime, as she tackles her unflinchingly honest lyrics. The young singer, songwriter, and accomplished pianist has always made candour her top priority: her songs are commendably aware, and previously have seen her raise consciousness about mental health issues, come back at bullies, and stand up for herself in a world that challenges the autonomy of young women. She’s earned herself in a very short time a reputation as one of the most outspoken pop singers in New Jersey.

Kelsey joins forces on ‘Break Mine’ with songwriter Rob Grimaldi, who has written hits for KPop artists BLACKPINK, MonstaX, and Kai. He’s also worked with many contemporary Nashville hitmakers, including Noah Cyrus and Tim McGraw. His talent for melody transcends all genres and cultural boundaries, proving that when the hooks are this good, people are going to listen.
