Casey Ahern’s latest single, ‘Bradley’, is a love song. It’s not about a man named Bradley however; rather it’s a love song to a tiny town in California, whose size is less than a quarter mile, with a population fewer than 200, but with an exquisite beauty.
Bradley is tucked away along the Salinas River, snug between the coastal mountain ranges and the farmland of the central valley. Bradley is a town built for reflection, and it was here that Casey Ahern took refuge during quarantine, busily writing, communing with the natural world, and at the same time channelling its spirit. Her new EP, ‘Where I Run’, was primarily written there, and is presence is felt throughout.
The song was recorded in Nashville, with the help of some of that town’s finest musicians and producers, including the Buzz Brothers, and the band featured veteran players who’ve worked with Shania Twain, Eric Church, Tim McGraw, The Band Perry, Kelsea Ballerini, and other stars. The end result is gorgeous – the perfect fusion of sun-drenched Californian style given live by the finest country players.
The music video features a handsome cowboy, along with plenty of footage of Casey Ahern, looking lovely. Bradley itself is the real star however, the featured ranch is absolutely stunning in all its rustic majesty. In the video, Casey Ahern practically becomes part of the land: she’s uprooted from the cold air of her city apartment, but is completely at home when she falls on her back in the Bradley grass.
