MJ Songstress – ‘Carousel’

‘Carousel’ is the latest single from MJ Songstress, and it will intoxicate you with its sensual, immersive, and propulsive beat. The New York City singer songwriter doesn’t let genres define her, and this unapologetic bop will pick you up and throw you onto the dance floor, and while its at it, put you in the mood for maybe testing out the waters of a new love.

‘Carousel’ is more than just an engaging song; it’s a multi-layered track that would sound just as good if it was performed on a single piano, as it does pumping out of the speakers in a club. It’s a perfect example of MJ Songstress’s talent for musical composition, and the artist is able to fuse pop, jazz, hip-hop, R&B, and Latin music – and probably lots more – into her very own sound, which is a representation of everywhere she’s already been and the places she’s yet to visit.

MJ Songstress’s many talents also include dancing, and this skill has been made good use of by director Sage Love, who highlight’s Songstress’s natural grace in the video for ‘Carousel’. She commands the screen and fills up every scene she’s in – a swimming pool, a club, or a balcony overlooking the city – the entire time she’s managing to look both natural, and radiant. The director has given the entire clip a dreamlike quality, which only adds to MJ Songstress’s appeal, as she dances through, smiling, alluring, and beckoning us all to come join her.
