Talk In Code Releases Anthemic New Single, ‘Secret’

Swindon fourpiece Talk In Code’s new single, ‘Secret’ is set for release on 16 November, and is their 5th drop for 2020. The group, whose debut album was released in 2014, have gone from strength to strength, with the fourpiece sharing the stage in that time with Scouting For Girls, Toploader, Go West, and Embrace. While they wait for live shows to start up again, they want to make the best of it, and have been giving their all to their recordings.

‘Secret’ is a song about a would-be relationship, and harks back to the sounds of the 80s, while harnessing a contemporary indie pop edge. The synths and guitar instrumentals call to mind the music of Tears For Fears, while the vocals are very much of this time. The group describe themselves as “Daft Punk meets The 1975”, and we can definitely hear that.

Talk In Code are destined for great things, having received radio support from both BBC Introducing, and Amazing Radio, the latter of whom described the band’s most recent release, “a glistening slab of indie pop”. The band have worked hard on their musical craftsmanship and soundscaping, and their aim is simply to make bright, pop-oriented music, that’s accessible to all.

‘Secret’ comes with a lyric video, which can be viewed below:
