MkX – ‘Fall’

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from MkX – the last time we wrote about him was in July 2018; it’s clear however the Boston-based visionary writer and producer has not let the grass grow under his feet, and his latest single, ‘Fall’, along with the music video, is certainly proof of that.

‘Fall’ is one of those songs that has a timeless quality about it; it’s about as close to pop perfection as you can get. It’s catchy, danceable, and instantly memorable, with its propulsive and innovative style. It’s also witty and daring, and pretty much everything we’d ever want in one synth-pop song. Of course, it’s not a novelty for MkX, his previous work speaks for itself, having millions of streams, and ‘Fall’ should likewise follow this path.

The video for ‘Fall’ sees MkX demonstrate his resourcefulness behind the camera as well. Due to the Covid-19 crisis, MkX resorted to making his clip using blue screen. The whole video is a crazy hallucination, which sees him take a ride through a number of  different backdrops, all produced digitally. It’s a great showcase for him to demonstrate his talent. MkX is seen in the screen of a video game; he’s sitting on a crystal throne; he surfs on lava. The one that stands out most of all however, sees him holding on for dear life to the ledge of a skyscraper, singing all; the while. His fingers loosen, he can no longer hold on…he plummets…yet his confidence and self-assurance is still evident, right to the end.
