Electronic Artist KRISTRÚN Releases Debut Single, ‘UNRAVEL’

Although originally from Iceland, electronic artist KRISTRÚN is now based in Liverpool, England, where she’s released her new noir electronic pop single, ‘UNRAVEL’.

The song, which KRISTRÚN regards as her first born child, due to it being the first song with which she really “clicked” in the writing process, is ethereal and expansive, the artist’s voice taking on a soundtrack feel that would work well on any “Nordic Noir” film or TV production – think ‘Wallander’, ‘Borgen’, or ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’. One thing is for certain – the song could definitely do with a music video – close your eyes and instantly you’re transported to a a snowy, Scandinavian landscape, KRISTRÚN’s voice bringing with it both the fire and ice of her homeland.

‘UNRAVEL’ was written over a year ago, and KRISTRÚN recorded it with producer, Emilie Krogh Johannessen, who ensured the track maintained its raw and spontaneous feel by using the lead vocal demo for the officially released track.

KRISTRÚN refers to her sound as, “dark electronic music for star-crossed lovers”, and ‘UNRAVEL’, with its simultaneously abrasive yet gentle feeling, the first of many songs to come from this artist.
