Malina Moye – ‘Enough’

Malina Moye is recognised as one of the top guitarists of her generation, and she demolishes the boundaries between rock, funk, soul, and pop. ‘Enough’, from her third and latest album, ‘Bad As I Wanna Be’, sees Malina grab the attention of her fans with her self-penned storytelling style, while at the same time grabbing at their hearts with her soulful guitar solos.

‘Enough’ is a self-affirming track, and the music video sees Malina playing her guitar atop a roof in Downtown LA, challenging her listeners to come to the same conclusion, that “I am enough, you are enough, we are enough”. Directed by Marc Fusco, the clip then turns around to focus on the pedestrians on the street below, thereby painting a picture of an inclusive society, which takes in people from all walks of life.

Speaking of the clip, Fusco said,

“Diversity is really the soul of the video. Malina’s lyrics speak about our dreams and hopes of what we want for our lives, but also come to terms with the DNA of America and the healing that it needs to do.”

Over the past few months, Malina Moye’s social media campaign #IAMENOUGH has seen a powerful resurgence, fuelled by a number of celebrity voices. So far the campaign has had more than four million impressions, with the number rising daily. Moye declares,

“‘I am young, I am black, I am a woman, and I am somebody’ is what kept going through my mind while I was writing ‘Enough’. So I am encouraging everyone to celebrate who you are right now in this moment—not who you’re trying to be, but exactly who you are now. You are enough.”
