R&B Artist Susana Esono Releases Latest Album, ‘My Baby’

Having moved to the US from her homeland of Equatorial Guinea to pursue her music career, Susana Esono makes her EP debut with ‘My Baby’. The release comprises five songs, and is a fine showcase of her songwriting skills.

‘My Baby’ has been a special project for RnB singer Susana, with the EP coming about after the loss of her brother, and Susana refocused the energy of her emotions into her music, using it as a therapy, which in turn results in a strong bond with her listeners.

Opening track, ‘My Baby’ expresses the distress and personal adversity she has experienced, while second track ‘Wanna’ continues this theme in a slightly more upbeat way. Track 3 ‘In Addition’ is possibly the highlight of the EP, with Susana’s lyrics conveyed in an almost spoken-word fashion, accompanied by a simple piano melody.

Track 4, ‘Work From Home’ is something we can all relate to at the moment, and her whisper-soft vocals talk about things that are disturbing her. Final song, ‘Save It’, is very similar to ‘My Baby’, and is the perfect end song to the EP, ending abruptly at just over 1 minute long. Susana has a unique vocal style that might not appeal to everyone, but lyrically her passion overflows, and the emotion in her voice is overwhelming.
