Premiere: On The Outside Ask ‘Why Me’ With New Video For Latest Single

The last time we’d heard On The Outside was back in July last year, when they covered the Jedward song, ‘How Did You Know‘, which appeared on the Irish duo’s 2012 album, ‘Young Love’. Now On The Outside return with their new single, ‘Why Me’, out 12 June.

The track is the latest in the band’s releases which blend pop with a little bit of country – without completely tipping into Americana territory. Comprising Andrew Bloom, Dawson Huckabee, Devin Hayes, Jon Klaasen and Sam Jenkins, On The Outside is a Los Angeles-based group, and with their signature harmonies tying the song altogether, they give a classic nod to other groups which could be categorised as “boy bands”, such as Backstreet Boys. Written by a host of writers comprising Mike Shimshack (known for his work with Britney Spears), Kyle Kelso (Kygo), and Tina Parol (Sabrina Carpenter), the song comes with a music video directed by Éli Sokhn, who has also worked with Why Don’t We.

Shot in a warehouse in what looks like Los Angeles’ fashion district, the video is a showcase of both the band’s individual vocal talents, and also their dance skills. It allows their personalities to shine through, and the upbeat song will have you bopping along – whether it be dancing around the room, or as I did, in my chair. It’s a catchy tune, and should see On The Outside soon find their way in to the inside.

On The Outside have been declared the “Official Boyband of TikTok”, and have had more than 2 billion views across their band, and personal pages, on the platform.

You can find out more about On The Outside online on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and their official website.
