Kaylee Jay Releases Latest Single, ‘Flying’

While on a spur of the moment trip to Los Angeles, songwriter Kaylee Jay wrote her latest single, ‘Flying’, with LA based rappers, Nodaysoff, and Big Phavor. The lyrics of ‘Flying’ are based around empowerment, and take in her real life experiences.

Still only 22 years old, Kaylee Jay has nonetheless been writing music since she was very young, and cites among her influences the likes of Joni Mitchell, and The Weeknd.

The instrumental track of the song has a very middle-eastern vibe about it, and Kaylee’s vocals above it sees her singing in a storytelling style, which focuses on the narrative in a prosaic fashion. It’s the perfect accompaniment for the rap which starts about halfway through the track, and the listener will be mesmerised by both the music and vocals.
