Jedward And James Newman To Perform In Upcoming Eurovision Home Concerts

With the Eurovision Song Contest called off this year because of the COVID-19 crisis, Eurovision has been doing their very best to keep fans happy by providing plenty of content. In fact, there’s been so much incredible content that it could be hoped this will continue to be on offer once things go back to normal.

One such offering is Eurovision Home Concerts, a series featuring beloved Eurovision artists from the past, and those who would have performed this year. The concerts have been going live at 5pm Central European Summer Time every Friday, starting on April 3, and finishing on May 15, the day before what would have been this year’s Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final.Previous weeks have included VICTORIA, who would have represented Bulgaria this year (you can read our interview with VICTORIA here), who performed in last week’s show, and Daði from Iceland, who featured in the second episode, on April 10:

Eurovision Home Concerts - Episode 2

Each artist performs their Eurovision song, plus a cover, with Daði covering the 2011 Irish song, ‘Lipstick’, by Jedward.

Jedward themselves will be performing in the Eurovision Home Concerts, in next week’s episode, May 8. It’s not known yet if they’ll be allowed to perform both their Eurovision songs, having represented Ireland in both 2011 and 2012, with ‘Lipstick’, and ‘Waterline’, respectively. What is known however, is that their cover song will be either Lena’s song, ‘Satellite’, with which she won for Germany in 2010, or Mans Zelmerlöw’s ‘Heroes’, which took the trophy home for Sweden in 2015.

Other artists lined up for future weeks include Efendi, from Azerbaijan, and James Newman, from the UK, both of whom will perform, along with Jedward, next Friday. You can watch the next episode of Eurovision Home Concerts tonight on the Eurovision Song Contest official YouTube channel. Tonight’s show will feature a mix of new and old favourites, including:
